Johnny Sutton

Johnny Thomas Sutton, 68, has passed away on May 4, 2018. He was born in Sweetwater, Texas on May 21, 1949. He was the son of George Akes Sutton and Lenora Sutton. 

Johnny married Sherry (Palmer) Sutton. Together they had one son, Ricky Sutton. 

Johnny worked as an electrician. He was also a veteran of the U.S Army serving in the Vietnam War.

He will be remembered by his wife, Sherry Sutton of Stephenville; his son, Ricky Sutton of Wichita Falls; four grandchildren; and several other relatives.

There are no scheduled services at this time for Mr. Sutton.

Steven Hetrick

Visitation for Steven John Hetrick is Thursday, May 3, 2018, from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. at Harrell Memorial Chapel.

Steven was born on Jan. 12, 1951. He was born in Bay City, Michigan, to Leroy Hetrick and Clara (Dorey) Hetrick. He was an Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War, Korean conflict and three tours in Germany. 

Steven married Margaret (Payne) Hetrick in 2001 in Waco. He was a skilled mechanic, electrician and prospector.

He died surrounded by loved ones on April 26, 2018. 

He will be remembered by his wife, Margaret Hetrick of Gorman; his sons, Scott Hetrick of Gorman and Steven Hetrick II of Washington; his daughters, Brandy Hetrick of Gorman,  Cynthia Hink and Christa Von Gezy; his 15

grandchildren; his brother, William Hetrick of Strawn; his sister, Suzette Hetrick of Michigan; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Elda Reed

Funeral services for Elda Faye Reed (Everett) are  Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Harrell Memorial Chapel at 11 a.m. Visitation is Friday, April 27 at Harrell Memorial Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m.

Elda Faye Reed (Everett), 81, died on the night of April 21, 2018. She was the daughter of J.B. Everett and Pearl Olene Gilbreath, born on April 27, 1936, in Erath County. Elda wed Troy “Rocky” Lemoines Reed on Nov. 2, 1952, in Lingleville. To this union, they added four children.

Elda was a Baptist. She worked as a seamstress, a manager of a sewing factory and as a deli manager at David’s Supermarket. 

She was preceded in death by her father, J.B. Everett; her mother, Pearl Olene Everett; her daughter, Rhonda Faye Stanfield; two grandsons, Landen James Ramsey and Slayton Lee Ringo; and one granddaughter, Yvonne Lechelle Reed.

Christi Hudson

Funeral services for Christine Ann Hudson were  Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Harrell Memorial Chapel.

Burial followed in Nancy Smith Cemetery near Glen Rose.

Christi was born on Dec. 25, 1962, in Glen Rose. She died on April 19, 2018, at the age of 55.  

She was the daughter of George Clayton Hudson and Patricia (Jackson) Hudson.  

She was united in marriage to Don Roy Moore on Jan. 17, 2009, in Dublin.

Christi is survived by her husband, Don Moore of Cresson, Texas;  her daughter, Lauren Stephans  of Abilene; her grand daughter, Emma Stephans of Abilene; her mother, Patricia (Jackson) Faust of Glen Rose; her sisters, Teresa Hudson of Fort Worth  and Pam Simon of Proctor; her step-children, AshleyMoore and Aaron Moore and her grandson, Max Moore; and a host of other relatives and many friends who will miss her dearly.

Cathey Pendleton

Cathey Vaughn Pendleton, 76, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018. Cathey was born in Gorman on Aug. 26, 1941, to the late Raymond Lesley Vaughn and Coda Cathey Vaughn. She had one sister, Joy Vaughn Stockton, who preceded her in death.

She married the love of her life Charles “Dag” W. Pendleton on June 24, 1961, in Dublin.

Cathey was a member of First Baptist Church Stephenville. She was longtime secretary to Rev. Emil Becker, as well as secretary of the sanctuary building committee. 

She also worked as office manager for McDonnell Douglas’ microbiology division and as a real estate broker. She grew up on Resley Creek and, after living in the Austin area for 25 years, she and Charles returned to live on their family land along Resley Creek in 2003.

Wilber Stockton

Wilber Stockton died Monday morning April 9, 2018, surrounded by family at Seton Medical Center Williamson in Round Rock, Texas. Wilber was relentless; always curious, always available to help others and an upbeat, outspoken optimist who lived life to the fullest each and every day. 

Services will be held at Harrell Funeral Home in Dublin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, with interment to follow at Live Oak Cemetery.

Wilber was born under blue skies in Dublin, on March 27, 1929. He was the son of Mable Rose and Bert Stockton, who owned the Patrick Street Shoe Store. Wilber was one of five siblings, including an identical twin brother, Warren. 

Wilber is survived by his son, Eric Stockton; daughter-in-law, Susan Stockton; grandchildren: Saxon, Luca and Phyllis; and many nieces and nephews.

Wilber married the love of his life, Joy Vaughn, on Dec. 27, 1953, and they were together for 60 years until she died in 2013.

Hesiquio Garcia

Hesiquio Garcia, 80, died on April 10, 2018. He was born May 18, 1937, in Mexico to Tomas Garcia and Soledad Moya Garcia. 

Visitation will be Thursday, April 12 at 6 p.m. at Harrell Funeral Home.

He married Margarita Ramirez on June 6, 1961. To this union, they had two daughters.

Hesiquio was Catholic. 

He spent many years as a farmhand on numerous dairies. He was a hard-working man and loved his family.

Hesiquio will be  remembered by his daughters,  Catalina and husband Peter Stephens of Garland, Texas and Norma Garcia of Garland, Texas; three grandchildren, Jerry and Ashley Stephens, Michelle and Matthew Allen, Monica and Blake Orite; three great-grandchildren, Helen Stephens, Daniel Allen and Hailey Allen; his brothers,  Juan Garcia and Jesus Garcia; his sisters, Esperanza Garcia and Petra Garcia; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Freddy Lozano

Freddy Lozano, 71, died on Friday, April 6, 2018. 

Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Colonel; brother, Dannis Lozano; his mother; and his father. 

Survivors include brothers, Seferino, Rupert, Raymond and Fidel Jr.; sisters, Eva, Elvira and Elizabeth; and many nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; great-great-nieces; and great-great-nephews. 

Arrangements were made under the direction of Greenwood Funeral Homes in Fort Worth.

Lincoln Conner

Funeral services for Lincoln Gordon Conner will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2018, at Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Phillip Conner officiating. Burial will follow at Barbee Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home. 

Lincoln was born in Weatherford, Texas, on March 4, 2018, to Corrie Lyn (Johnson) and Jacob Conner. They were married on August 6, 2016, in DeLeon, Texas.

Survivors include his parents Jacob and Corrie Conner of Weatherford, Texas; a sister, Lexzee Johnson of Weatherford, Texas, and a brother, Haylan Conner; grandparents, Julie Conner of Dublin, Texas, Hope Michele Cantley of Weatherford, Texas, and Phillip and wife, Tina Conner of Dublin, Texas; aunts and uncles, Valari Conner, Phillip Tyson Conner, Maurianna and husband, Justin Carpenter, Mike and wife, Kim Fox-Gerdes, and great-aunts, Kim Barnett and Kelly Mills.

W.L. Trice Jr.

W. L. Trice Jr. died Feb. 16, 2018, at the age of 95.

Services were held at Knox City, Texas. Born to Lonzo and Maye Trice in Dublin, he spent 55 years pasturing Baptist churches in the West Texas area.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Evelyne and three sisters, Wynelle, Melba and Faye.

Survivors include his children, Renda Carlton, Ruth Acree and John Mark Trice; two sisters, Mavis Alexander and Rose Jones and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
