Carolyn Thetford

Carolyn Sue (Wilson) Thetford, 59, died on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, in Abilene.

She was born on June 10, 1959, in Dallas to Howard and Sue (Wilhite) Wilson. 

She was united in marriage to Bryan Thetford in Stephenville, on June 30, 1979. Carolyn was a graduate of Tarleton State University and a member of O.W.L.S. social club. She was a dedicated educator across the state of Texas for more than 20 years.

James Williamson

James Richard Williamson was born on Feb. 4, 1943, in Gorman. 

He is the son of Virgil and Vada Williamson, and brother of Blaine and Wayne Williamson.

He died on Nov. 2, 2018.

Jim graduated from North Texas State University and enjoyed a fulfilling teaching and coaching career for many years. 

Jim worked at a few different school districts, but Keller ISD was the district he worked for the longest. 

Jim felt that athletics offered an avenue of success that many kids might not experience through academics alone.  

Jim is survived by brother, Wayne Williamson of Dublin; daughter,  Meagan Williamson of Fort Worth; and grandchildren, Gage Williamson-Miller (13), Emelia Pool (8), Zoey Pool (7) and Brighton James Pool (9 months) of Fort Worth.

The graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. in Dublin at Barbee Cemetery.

L.G. Abels

L.G. Abels, 72 years old, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018, at Golden Age Nursing Center in Dublin, Texas. Born July 19, 1946, in Baird, Texas, to Jesse Paul Abels and Hattie Irene Barnes Abels.

He married Barbara Ann Corley Dec. 29, 1964. She preceded him in death on April 14, 2008. He was also preceded in death by three grandsons, Michael Aaron McLearen, Justin Robert Phillips and Mason Chance Abels; son-in-law, Marvin Moncrief; and siblings, Delbert Abels, Xyrepha Horrell, Elizabeth Burch, Pauline Power and Wanda Simmons.

Patsy Singer

Patsy Wiggins Singer passed away quietly at her home in Glen Rose, Texas, on Nov. 1, 2018.  

She was born on Jan. 27, 1933, in Comanche County, Texas.

She was preceded in death by husband Philip Singer; parents Liston and Irene Wiggins; brother Don Wiggins.

She is survived by sister Martha Nelson; sister-in-law Sue Wiggins; brother-in-law Bernie Singer; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was loved by everyone for her positive, upbeat spirit and generous heart.

Her cremains will be interred in Erath Garden of Memories at a later date.

Donnie Brewer

Graveside services for Donnie Brewer of Brownwood are Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018 at 11 a.m. in Dublin Live Oak Cemetery. 

Donnie died on Friday, Oct. 26, 2018. He was born on Dec. 28, 1947 in Hugo, Okla. to Joe Brewer and Ella Marie (Morgan) Brewer.

He was married on May 30, 1993 in Brownwood to Patricia Shafer Brewer. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2014.

Donnie was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart for his service. He worked as a electronic technician for the Ross Company and then Superior Essex.

Laura Fine

Services for Laura Alline Fine were Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018 at Harrell Memorial Chapel with a burial following the service at Dublin Live Oak cemetery in Dublin, TX.

Laura died on Oct. 25, 2018 at the age of 98 years, 10 months and 16 days. She was born on Dec. 9, 1919 in Chandler’s Bottom near Buffalo, TX to her parents William Luther Vaughan and Hattie May (Thornton) Vaughan. Laura spent her life as a homemaker and was a member of the First Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Morgan Fine, Sr.; her daughter, Laura Alice Wilson; 3 brothers and 3 sisters. 

Left behind to cherish her memory are: her daughter, Martha Little of College Station, TX; her son, Morgan Fine, Jr of North Richland Hills, TX; her sister, Mary Kell of Ft. Worth, TX; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Isabel Macias

Visitation for Isabel Macias will be Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Harrell Funeral Home. 

The services will be Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. With a burial at Dublin Live oak Cemetery. 

Isabel Christina Macias died on Oct. 18, 2018. She was born on Feb. 12, 1982 in Mexico to her parents Miguel Angel Macias and Margarita (Prado) Macias. She was married to Oscar Ruiz Robles and spent her life as a homemaker.

Left behind to cherish her memory are: her husband, Oscar Ruiz Robles of Dublin; her daughter, Nely Ruiz of Dublin; her sons: Oscar Ruiz, Jr. of Dalhart, TX, Severanto Ruiz of Dublin, Gerado Macias of Dublin,  Miguel A Ruiz of Dublin, Benjamin Ruiz of Dublin and Noel Ruiz of Dublin; her sister, Rosa Bahona of Dublin; her brothers: Juan C. Macias, Martin Macias, Gerardo Macias, Miguel Macias and Juan Manuel Macias all of Dublin.

Garner Rice

Funeral services for Garner Elgene Rice, 86, of Brownwood, was held Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018, at the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Garner Rice died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at his home.

Garner Rice was born May 25, 1932, to James Frank and Bertha (Parrish) Rice at their home in Brookesmith. He graduated from Brookesmith High School and Howard Payne University before being drafted into the United States Army, where he proudly served his country. Garner taught school in the towns of Gustine, Carbon and Gorman; and he was the superintendent at Lingleville ISD from 1962 until his retirement in 1992.

Rogelio Campos

Funeral services for Rogelio Campos were Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Harrell Memorial Chapel in Dublin. The burial will be at Dublin Liveoak Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Harrell Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses. 

Rogelio Campos died on Oct. 11, 2018. He was born on April 3, 1972, in Del Rio to Armando Campos and Sofia (Castillo) Campos. Rogelio graduated from Rochelle High School and spent his life as a plumber working for Outlaw Conversions. Rogelio is married to Anna (Sandoval) Campos of Bangs. 

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Anna Campos of Bangs; his sons, Juan Pedro Campos of Brownwood, Aaron Campos of Brownwood and Rogelio Campos of Bangs; his daughters,  Yolissa Campos of Brownwood, Mia Campos of Bangs and Martha Campos of Bangs; his sisters, Maria Campos of Brady, Elizabeth Sanchez of Dublin and Nora Villalobos of Dublin; his brother, Armando Campos of Stephenville; and a grandson.

Curtis Turley

Funeral service for Curtis Darel Turley was Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Dublin. The burial was at Lower Greens Creek Cemetery in Dublin.

Curtis was born on Oct. 28, 1933, in Erath County. He died on Oct. 10, 2018 at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 10 days. He was the son of A.G. Turley and Bertha (Merrill) Turley. He was united in marriage to Dortha Jean Christian on Jan. 16, 1954, in Stephenville, and to this union two children were born; Vicky Arlene Stone and Darren Curtis Turley.

Curtis graduated in the last class from Alexander High School and then served in the U.S. Army. After a brief time as a carpenter, he spent the next 50 years as a dairyman in Erath County. Curtis served on the DISD Board of Trustees. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dublin.
